Hi — I'm the person behind Weathard. I have a full-time job and a not-so-small problem: I'm an adrenaline junkie who can never sit still.
On any given week you might find me chasing waves on a surfboard, powering up a windsurf sail, flying on a wingfoil, running off a mountain under a paraglider, carving down a snowboard run, or halfway up a climbing route. Different sports, one thing in common: they all live and die by the weather.
So checking the weather isn't a hobby for me — it's a daily ritual. And for years it drove me a little crazy: I'd bounce between five different apps and sites, squinting at wind arrows and swell charts, trying to work out whether this spot would actually be good on that afternoon. None of the tools out there let me simply say: “Tell me when the wind is N-NE, 18–25 knots, with a bit of swell — but only on days I can actually get out.”
That's the itch Weathard scratches. It's an easy, fully customizable weather alert system for the sports I love. You add your spots, dial in the exact conditions that make a session worth it, and Weathard keeps watch — lighting up your 10-day outlook and nudging you the moment the forecast lines up. No more refreshing five tabs. No more “I wish I'd known it was firing yesterday.”
Where the name comes from
Wizard + Weather — the wizard of weather. Say it out loud and you get Weathard. A little bit of magic that turns raw forecast data into a simple “go” or “not today.”
Right now Weathard is a beta — a proof of concept. I built it to solve my own problem, and I'm sharing it because I have a feeling I'm not the only one. If it turns out that other athletes, weekend warriors and fellow forecast-addicts find it as useful as I do, I'm more than willing to invest and grow it into something much bigger.
